At the start of the Winter, we adjusted our practice appointment system to allow for more ‘on the day’ capacity, as patient feedback supported the concept that most patients wanted to be seen on the day and at that time, we were struggling to meet this need.

However, since the implementation of this change, we have seen a huge increase in patient complaints and an even bigger increase of abuse and unacceptable behaviour towards our practice reception team – THIS MUST STOP!

Having reviewed feedback both anecdotal and from our monthly Friends and Family Survey, we have decided to change our appointments back to

  • 40% bookable up to 2 weeks in advance
  • 60% bookable on the day

We do ask you to Please understand that when our appointments are gone, they are gone, there is nothing our staff can do about this, and they cannot create more capacity.

Any negative behaviour towards any member of our practice team will no longer be tolerated, and any patients doing so will be asked to leave the practice.
