GP Practices are receiving many requests to prescribe weight loss injections (Mounjaro or similar).
The Greater Manchester ICB (the organisation responsible for overseeing NHS funding for GP Practices in Bury) has issued instructions that this medication CANNOT be prescribed for weight loss.
We do recognise that this is a frustrating situation for many patients however, booking an appointment to speak with one of our clinicians will not change the outcome as this decision has not been made by Ribblesdale Medical Practice.
